Media Researcher - Tamil

Core Competencies:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English and Tamil  
  • Excellent analytical skills
  • Excellent in translation from Tamil to English
  • Competent user of MS Office, particularly MS Word
  • Good team player, efficient and detail-oriented  
  • The ability to work under tight deadlines
  • Good understanding and knowledge of current affairs 

Education Requirements:

  • Undergraduate Degree holder in the Social Sciences stream
  • Those pursuing qualifications in other educational disciplines requiring writing and management skills may also apply

Project Assistant - Manthri.lk 

Manthri.lk is a pioneering trilingual website run by Verité Research that profiles the actions and activities of each of the 225 Members of Parliament in Sri Lanka. As a MP monitoring scorecard, Manthri.lk recognizes the need for accountability of MPs to their voters.

Verité Research offers its Project Assistants an inter-disciplinary research environment and direct exposure to the work and management of the organisation. Successful applicants will acquire experience in research methods, data analysis and communication strategies.

Verité’s Manthri.lk team is calling for applications for the position of Project Assistant to be hired on a probationary basis.

Core Competencies:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English (fluency in Sinhala / Tamil would be an advantage)
  • Competent user of MS Office, particularly MS Excel
  • Knowledge of design software such as Adobe Photoshop, Adobe Illustrator and/or InDesign
  • Good team player
  • Professional, organised and detail-oriented
  • Efficient at multi-tasking and time management

Verité Research offers its interns an inter-disciplinary research environment and direct exposure to the work and management of the organisation. Successful applicants will acquire experience in research methods, data analysis and communication strategies as well as enhance their knowledge on a wide range of economic and policy issues.

Verité’s Economics team is calling for applications for Research Internships spanning a course of three months.

Core Competencies:

  • Fluency in written and spoken English (fluency in Sinhala / Tamil would be an advantage)
  • Competent user of MS Office, particularly MS Excel
  • Good team player, efficient and detail-oriented  

 

Education Requirements:

  • School leaver of demonstrable academic excellence or undergraduate student pursuing a degree in Economics, Statistics, Commerce, Mathematics, Business Administration or Sociology is preferred.
  • Those pursuing qualifications in other educational disciplines requiring writing and management skills may also apply
