Yanitra Kumaraguru is an Attorney-at-Law of the Supreme Court of Sri Lanka, specialising in humanitarian law, gender, technology and human rights, and disarmament. She is also the Coordinator for the Sri Lanka Campaign to Stop Killer Robots, functioning under the Forum on Disarmament and Development as part of the larger global Campaign to Stop Killer Robots.

 

Yanitra holds a Bachelor of Laws (LLB) from the Faculty of Law, University of Colombo and a Master of Laws (LLM) from Harvard Law School. Prior to joining Verité Research, she served as a Lecturer of Law at the University of Colombo for nearly eight years, and has also worked as a Visiting Lecturer and Researcher on a freelance basis.

 

At Verité Research, Yanitra serves as Team Lead of Legal Research, bringing her extensive academic and legal expertise to bear on the organisation’s research initiatives.
