About the role
Verité Research is seeking a strategic and results-oriented professional to lead its Business Development and resource mobilisation function.
The successful candidate will develop and implement Verité Research’s funding strategy, maintain a prioritised funding pipeline, strengthen relationships with funders and partners, provide strategic oversight of priority proposals, and strengthen the systems, processes and capabilities needed for effective Business Development.
Key Roles and Responsibilities
- Develop and implement the Business Development and resource mobilisation strategy.
- Track funder priorities, calls, budgets and compliance requirements.
- Maintain a diversified and prioritised funding pipeline across different funding sources.
- Build relationships with funders, partners and potential collaborators.
- Take overall accountability for the timely submission of compliant, high-quality proposals.
- Lead the Business Development team, strengthen capacities, systems and tools.
Expected Results
- A clear funding strategy and prioritised pipeline guide resource allocation.
- Priority proposals are well aligned with funder requirements and organisational priorities.
- Funder relationships, proposal performance and funding gaps are actively managed and reported.
- Business Development systems, processes and team capability are strengthened.
Experience and Achievements
We are looking for someone with:
- Demonstrable experience in Business Development, resource mobilisation, fundraising.
- A record of contributing to or leading successful proposals for international funders.
- Experience interpreting funder strategies, calls, budgets and compliance requirements.
- Experience coordinating multidisciplinary teams and managing competing deadlines.
- Experience in research, think tanks or international development is desirable.
