Job Description
We are seeking to hire a Business Development Executive to join our business development cluster with immediate effect. We are looking for like-minded candidates aligned with our core values and purpose, capable of original and innovative thinking, and willing to take a pro-active role in different areas of our organisation. 

In this position, you will be tasked with supporting the business development cluster at Verité to implement new business development strategies, including pre-positioning, proposal development, and strategic client development management. You will be expected to play a key role in securing funding for the transformative research carried out by Verité Research.  

In this role you will also be expected to: 

  • Track, assess and share information about donor business forecasts, pre-solicitations, funding strategies, proposal guidelines and notices of funding opportunities       
  • Conduct research on upcoming opportunities and participate in pre-positioning efforts for identified bids        
  • Work with relevant teams and assist in drafting proposals and budgets in line with donor requirements, whilst ensuring relevancy and quality of business development materials 
  • Maintain accurate information about business development opportunities and contacts in an internal database  
  • Review opportunity wins and losses on a quarterly basis and document lessons learned 

What we require:

Candidates are required to meet the following set of qualifications to be considered for this position:
 

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management, Marketing, International Development, Social Sciences or related field. Master’s Degree will be an added advantage.
  • Work experience: Minimum 2-3 years in related fields and proven track record in liaising with clients/donors, proposal writing and managing funding portfolios. 
  • Skills:  Strong written and verbal communication skills in English. Strong time management and organisational skills with the ability to independently schedule and prioritise multiple tasks. Excellent presentation skills. Proven success working with all levels of management
