Verité Research will be hosting the seminar “Colombo Port City Project: The Environmental Narrative” this week, featuring guest speaker Professor Naazima Kamardeen from the Faculty of Law at the University of Colombo. The seminar will highlight the gap in public understanding on the environmental impact of the Colombo Port City Project.
The Colombo Port City is a development project undertaken by the China Harbour Engineering Company. The main presentation by Professor Kamardeen will be followed by a response from Mr. W.A.D.D. Wijesooriya, Chief Environmental Consultant to the Port City Project. Mr. Wijesooriya is the former Director (EIA) of the Central Environmental Authority and the Environmental Management Specialist on the Upper Kotmale hydropower project.
This seminar will be held at Verité Research on Thursday, 12th September 2019.
